Will my child graduate? To walk in a high school graduation ceremony a student must pass the GRAD tests and have enough high school course credits. To get there, every student follows a different path. Talk to your school counselor about any additional requirements they may have. If your child is on an IEP (Individualized Education Program), contact your student's case manager.

KEY OF TESTING TITLES

Required State Tests:

  • MCA = Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments

Required Tests for Graduation:

  • GRAD = Graduation-Required Assessments for Diploma (taken as part of MCA in grades 9-11)

District-provided Tests:

  • PLAN = Pre-ACT
  • Prepare = Pre-PLAN
  • PSAT = Preliminary SAT


Required Tests for College Admission (check with the college to know which to take):

  • ACT = American College Test
  • SAT = Scholastic Aptitude Test

College Placement Tests:

  • AP = Advanced Placement
  • IB = International Baccalaureate
  • CLEP = College Level Examination Program
  • Accuplacer
